About the Event
We all grapple with stress, trauma and challenging situations throughout our lives, finding lots of different ways to deal (or not deal) with the mental and emotional impact. We are rarely taught how to proactively take care of our mental health, and as a result we put our coping mechanisms and self-care strategies on auto-pilot. But with added stress arising in this challenging, evolving world we live in, it's clear auto-pilot isn't good enough. We believe that mental health is integral to building a healthy, equitable world for all. That starts with how we care for ourselves.
In this class, we walk you through our process that helps build a deeper understanding of yourself and your emotions, craft ways to holistically care for yourself and unlearn the unhealthy auto-pilot self-care we've used in the past. We help you think beyond the bubble bath, so that you can give yourself the kind of love, care and attention you need.
This is a two-hour virtual class, with lots of room for questions and dialog. Everyone is welcome to participate. We use Blue Jeans for our video conferencing, which offers live closed captioning for all classes, if needed.
Each participant will receive an electronic version of our Self-Care Planning Workbook. If you would like to receive a printed, hard-copy version of the workbook instead, you can purchase that as an add-on when buying your class ticket.
We offer our classes to the general public at reasonable, accessible prices. We also offer scholarships (partial and full) for a handful of participants in every class. If you'd like to apply to receive a scholarship, please email us at email@example.com.
If you'd like to "pay it forward" by contributing to our scholarship fund, you will find that option under Tickets.
Just A Girl's goal is to foster Inclusive Mental Health. From a place of emotional well-being, each of us can learn how to better show up for ourselves and our communities. To learn more, visit justagirl.co.
